Could be that the extensions
doc, xls, pdf, zip, docx, xlsx
display a JPG of Word, Excel, Pdf, Zip
When List, View, Edit, Add
Also in Internet Explorer and Chrome displays an X and can be opened in mozilla shows nothing.

These types of file, doc, xls, pdf, zip, docx, xlsx, are document type not image type. So, do not use IMAGE View Tag for the field.
If you want to show image, you have to insert your image in list/view.
Can you describe more detail about in mozilla shows nothing? What type of document can not open in Mozilla? Is there any javascript error in mozilla?
what happens in mozilla firefox and chrome is the following
mozilla does not show in the picture, it fails.
It would be interesting if document, image, show a default image as pdf.jpg or word.jpg or that giving excel.jpg and click on one of these will open the document.
