Can a "quick filter" row be added in list page?

Because the search or ext. search will lead the user to another page, so I come to an idea of this "quick filter", which can quickly narrow down the data searching by user?

Just enable "Use modal dialog for Advanced Search" from "Table" setup -> "Table-specific Options".

Thanks. I tried that way, but its convenience seems to be improved?
And, the fields in the list are placed horizontal, but they are placed vertically in the modal dialog, which distracts the users a little bit, too.

Note that Advanced Search supports Custom Template, see Custom Templates in the help file.
